For the past several years, Bombas, a sock and apparel company, has donated socks and other clothing items to JFS Hope’s domestic violence services and the JFS SOVA Community Food and Resource Program.

At their September meeting, the Jewish Family Service LA Board of Directors voted to support Proposition 1 (Prop 1), which will appear on the November 8th California ballot.
JFS Hope has dedicated the Linda’s Library & Art Space at the Hope North emergency domestic violence shelter in memory of Linda Levine, a passionate supporter of JFS Hope’s services.

This year, as part of Jewish Family Service LA’s intern program, the agency welcomed 19 social work students in Master’s Degree programs to help them gain experience and receive hands-on training.

On August 31st, Jewish Family Service LA held an educational forum for its Board members to learn more about the economic and other drivers of homelessness, understand the policy landscape and how housing and other policies impact older adults and survivors of intimate partner violence who are housing insecure.
With the rise of food and living costs, more and more people are turning to the JFS SOVA Community Food & Resource Program for support. It is estimated that approximately one in every 5 people in Los Angeles are affected by food insecurity. Now more than ever, it is essential for us to provide fresh and healthy food to LA families all year long. For this reason, we are reimagining our food drives to be more effective and compassionate.
Andrea De Lange has been a volunteer with Jewish Family Service LA for over 9 years. She volunteers with Café Europa, JFSLA’s weekly social group for survivors of the Holocaust.
Jewish Family Service LA relies on volunteers to help provide compassionate services to the people of Los Angeles. We are grateful for the 400 committed volunteers helping us assist clients throughout 20 programs. To support volunteer operations and better inform volunteers of opportunities, JFSLA has begun using Better Impact, a database tool for volunteers.
