JFSLA Debuts Community Impact Network

The chaos in the world can feel endless. From hatred and antisemitism to budget cuts and policy rollbacks, our friends and neighbors are at risk of falling through the cracks

At Jewish Family Service LA, we see it every day — not as headlines, but as lived reality. Families skipping meals to make rent. Seniors on the precipice of hunger and homelessness. Angelenos who lost their homes in the January fires. As one of LA’s oldest and most trusted human services organizations, we’ve spent over 170 years stepping in when the systems we rely on recedes. But meeting this moment — and preparing for what’s next — will take more than programs and partnerships. It will take people.

That’s why we created the Community Impact Network (CIN) — a new leadership and engagement initiative for emerging changemakers in their 20s and 30s who are committed to service and community action.

More Than Volunteering. More Than Networking.

CIN is for people who want to roll up their sleeves and understand how real change happens. It’s a space to connect with peers who care deeply about Los Angeles — and are looking for meaningful ways to make a difference.

Over 10 months, you’ll gain leadership skills, connect with peers who care about making a difference, and take action on issues affecting our city—while deepening your understanding of JFSLA’s mission to help vulnerable Angelenos. Throughout the session, participants will engage directly with nonprofit professionals, policy experts, JFSLA leadership, and elected officials. Through workshops, guest speakers, and hands-on experiences, CIN members will gain insight into how real-world advocacy, human services, and nonprofit leadership work in Los Angeles.

CIN members will also have the opportunity to represent JFSLA at the JPAC (Jewish Political Action Committee) Capitol Summit in Sacramento—an intensive, hands-on advocacy experience where participants will meet with state legislators, share their stories, and push for policies that support vulnerable Angelenos.

Built for the Next Generation of Change

We know that today’s emerging leaders are looking for something real. Not just another happy hour or another meeting. CIN is about learning the ins and outs of human services, building relationships, understanding the needs of the LA community, and taking action in ways that are both strategic and based in the Jewish value of tikkun olam (healing the world).

Be Part of What Comes Next

As LA continues to change, we need a new generation to rise with it — one that brings new voices to the table and keeps compassion at the center.

If you’re in your 20s or 30s and looking for a way to grow as a leader, volunteer, advocate, and connector, the Community Impact Network was created for you.
