ILC on the Move (Israel Levin Senior Center)

As you’ve probably heard, JFS is will need to temporarily vacate the Israel Levin Center Building in anticipation of the Jewish Federation’s construction of the beautiful new BAR Center on the Beach – an exciting time for all of us. During the construction, we will continue to offer daily kosher meals at a new location.  Under our new name of JFS { ILC on the Move, we will offer a number of our programs that you have come to know and love at different host sites in the Venice community.

The new meal site will be at this nearby location:
Oakwood Recreational Center
767 California Avenue, Venice 90291

We want to share some critical information with you in preparation for the move:

  • Our last day of service at the Israel Levin Center will be Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
  • Our meal site services at Oakwood Recreational Center will resume the very next day, Wednesday, May 23, 2018
  • Meals will continue to be kosher.
  • We will be meeting with meal site participants and program participants to explore and find solutions to transportation needs on an individual basis.
  • Community members can reach us during normal business hours Monday – Friday at 213-260-7968

As more details and updates are confirmed, we will be informing all of our participants directly and with updates on our website.

We understand that moving one’s home, one’s office – and yes, even one’s Senior Center – can be challenging. Please know that JFS staff and volunteers will be working around the clock to make this move as easy as possible, so that all of our participants can continue to enjoy what JFS { ILC on the Move has to offer.

On behalf of all of us at JFS, we look forward to welcoming you at the Oakwood Recreational Center for meals. If you have any questions about this relocation process, please call us at 231-260-7968. We are excited for the creation of The BAR Center on the Beach and continuing our programming in this new state-of-the-art building. We look forward to serving our community during construction with ILC on the Move!
