How to Give - Tools for School

Tools for School is a simple, yet powerful JFS project whose goal is to prepare children to start the school year with the tools they need to feel competent, motivated and proud to attend school.

Studies have shown that children who have the basic supplies required in the classroom have higher levels of confidence and self-esteem, leading to greater achievement and socialization. The program accomplishes its goal by providing backpacks, furnished with the necessary basic school supplies to 1000 children, identified by JFS social workers, who live below poverty level.

We provide LAUSD students with basic school supplies they are unable to purchase themselves. We collect everything!! back packs, colored pencils, composition books, highlighter pens, #2 lead pencils, 3 ring binder notebooks, notebook paper, pencil sharpeners, pencil cap erasers, glue sticks, scissors, pocket folders, Elmer’s glue, pens, crayons, and rulers.
