Volunteer - Disability Services

At JFS there are multiple opportunities to volunteer your time and skills working children, adults and families who are living with a disability. We provide counseling, case management, social recreation and information. In addition, we offer support groups, home modification device installation, transportation, information & referral, education and activities throughout the city and valley.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Assisting with fundraising, planning special events and outreach
  • Accompanying clients and staff on day trips and travel outings
  • Assisting with leading a class
  • Working on our Warm Line to assist families

The programs that assist people with special needs and their geographic locations

  • HaMercaz Information and referrals for families that have children with special needs. Events in the city and the valley. Offices in the valley.
  • Chaverim Social program for developmentally disabled adults 18 and older. Offices in the valley.

Social services for Nazi victims have been supported by a grant from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.
JFSLA receives funds from the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Holocaust Survivor Emergency Assistance Fund, administered by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany for the benefit of needy Jewish Nazi victims.
Funds have been provided by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany for the Emergency Assistance Program for Nazi Victims at the discretion of the United States District Court supervising the lawsuit In Re: Holocaust Victim Assets Litigation (Swiss Banks).
