JFS { Young Leaders actively engage and empower emerging young professionals through need-based philanthropy, volunteerism, social events, leadership development and networking opportunities with the goal of creating a positive and lasting impact within the Los Angeles community.

JFS { Young Leaders is a dynamic and diverse group of community-minded individuals between the ages of 21-40 who are committed to cultivating relationships and bringing about humanitarian change and progress to the people and communities that are the most vulnerable.  JFS { Young Leaders are the future and are fully committed to facing the many challenges of creating a better and brighter community by leading, serving, and fostering connections.
 

WHAT WE DO:

The diversity of opportunities and flexibility of involvement allows members to make an impact in their own unique way. JFS { Young Leaders:

Attend meetings that vary in structure and format, and include, but are not limited to discussing ideas, interests, and fundraising possibilities that are both meaningful and effective ways to give back to the Los Angeles community.   • Volunteer at the JFS { SOVA Community Food and Resource Center
  • Organize events that will directly benefit the clients of the agency, and attend social networking functions
  • Participate in Leadership Development Forums with local established leaders for personal and professional growth

OUR FOUR SIMPLE GOALS:

  • Create AWARENESS and VOLUNTEER opportunities to be good citizens
  • Get EDUCATED on relevant issues in the LA community and across the world 
  • Be skilled NETWORKERS and get to know their fellow young leaders
  • We want our Young Leaders to be avid FUNDRAISERS 

These four goals are the pillars of what we do and what we are about. We have committees that not only manage these goals, but also maintain accountability and effective productiveness. 

The variety of opportunities and levels of involvement allow members to make an impact in their own unique way.

JFS { YOUNG LEADERS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
 

 Sarah Braun, Co-Chair

“As a native Angeleno, I joined JFS { Young Leaders as an opportunity to give back and make an impact in my community.”

Sarah Braun is a Business Development Consultant, where she provides business consulting and coaching services to lawyers and law firms. Prior to becoming a consultant, Sarah was an intellectual property attorney at Ruttenberg IP Law, where she primarily focused on intellectual property litigation. Sarah graduated cum laude with a JD / MBA from Southwestern Law School and Claremont Graduate University’s Peter F. Drucker School of Management. Sarah received her undergraduate degree in American Studies from Barnard College. She serves on the Drucker School Advisory Board and on the Board of the Red Shoe Society of the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House. Sarah is also an avid traveler, wine enthusiast, and cooking aficionado, and enjoys spending time with her husband, son and Labrador, Lily.

 

 Erin Felman, Co-Chair

"I believe wholeheartedly in the mission of JFS and that Young Leaders are the future of the agency. I have chosen a leadership role within JFS { Young Leaders because I want to play a key part of the important planning, programming, and goal-setting we do and I am honored to be able to contribute to such an incredible and motivated group of individuals."

Erin Felman is a Recruiting Manager at J.R. Berry Search Group, a boutique recruiting firm that places high-quality administrative and HR professionals in top companies throughout LA. Erin graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of California, San Diego with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Prior to starting at J.R. Berry, Erin worked at Moelis & Company, a global investment bank directly supporting a team of senior executives, including the CEO, and assisted with the firm’s recruitment efforts for the Los Angeles office. Prior to Moelis & Company, she worked in the nonprofit field recruiting and managing volunteers for THINK Together, headquartered in Orange County. Outside of work, Erin enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband David, son Benjamin, and two rescue dogs.

Social services for Nazi victims have been supported by a grant from the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.
JFSLA receives funds from the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Holocaust Survivor Emergency Assistance Fund, administered by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany for the benefit of needy Jewish Nazi victims.
Funds have been provided by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany for the Emergency Assistance Program for Nazi Victims at the discretion of the United States District Court supervising the lawsuit In Re: Holocaust Victim Assets Litigation (Swiss Banks).
