Food & Hunger

Ways you can help people experiencing food insecurity include: helping with food distribution at one of our food pantries, delivering groceries to homebound older adults and people with diverse abilities, and assisting at the front desk and with intakes at our community food and resource program.

Current opportunities:

  • Distribution/Production Volunteer (Van Nuys)
    • Volunteers will be assisting with a variety of tasks.  It may be filling carts with pre-packed and other grocery items, preparing/scooping bags of different products, checking in clients, and other tasks.
    • Sundays 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m
    • Volunteers must 16+
  • Distribution/Production Volunteer (Pico/Robertson)
    • Volunteers will be assisting with a variety of tasks. It may be filling carts with pre-packed and other grocery items, preparing/scooping bags of different product, checking in clients, and other tasks.
    • Monday – Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m
    • Volunteers must be 16+
  • Production Volunteer (Van Nuys)
    • Volunteers will assist with bagging or boxing food for distribution.
    • Fridays 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
    • Volunteers must be 16+
  • Afternoon Distribution/Production Volunteer (Van Nuys)
    • Volunteers may be assisting with bagging or boxing food for distribution, they may be sorting and packaging items rescued from grocery stores or may be doing other jobs that will be helping to prepare for future food distribution.
    • Monday – Thursday 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m
    • Volunteers must be 16+
