Food & Hunger

Ways you can help people experiencing food insecurity include: helping with food distribution at one of our food pantries, delivering groceries to homebound older adults and people with diverse abilities, and assisting at the front desk and with intakes at our community food and resource program.

Current opportunities:

  • Distribution Volunteer (Van Nuys)
    • Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks such as: filling carts with pre-packed food, checking in clients, data entry and other tasks.
    • Sundays 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m
    • Volunteers must 16+
  • Distribution Volunteer (Pico/Robertson)
    • Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks such as: filling carts with pre-packed food, checking in clients, data entry and other tasks.
    • Monday – Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m
    • Volunteers must be 16+
  • Distribution Volunteer (Canoga Park Pop-Up)
    • Volunteers will assist with set up of the farmer’s market style pop up, distribute and restock groceries and taking down of the pop up.
    • Fridays 12:15 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    • Volunteers must be 18+
  • Production Volunteer (Van Nuys)
    • Volunteers will assist with bagging or boxing food for distribution.
    • Sundays 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. | Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m | Fridays 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
    • Volunteers must be 16+
  • Grocery Rescue Volunteer (Van Nuys)
    • Volunteers will assist with sorting, quality control, and packaging of items rescued from grocery stores
    • Monday – Thursday 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m
    • Volunteers must be 17+
