Paul Castro Attends 2016 Clinton Global Initiative America Meeting

JFS President and CEO, Paul Castro, was invited to attend The Clinton Global Initiative’s annual convening in June. Established in 2005 by President Bill Clinton, the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), an initiative of the Clinton Foundation, gathers global leaders to create and implement innovative solutions to the world's most pressing challenges. The purpose of this year’s event was to bring together thought leaders in a variety of areas to discuss tactical solutions to big issues.

One of the groups that the CGI hosted this year worked together under the banner of “outcomes based financing”.  The charge of this cluster was to discuss how community based services might better align with the health care sector as a mechanism to reducing overall costs and improving patient/client outcomes.

The small group chosen to participate in this discussion was comprised of funders, large health entities, MediCaid and community based organizations like JFS.  Jewish Family Service’s presence at this meeting illustrates how our Agency is a true pioneer when it comes to creating stronger connections with healthcare entities. Although the conversation was started in Atlanta, it will continue with JFS at the table.

Congratulations to Paul and to our staff and social workers for their hard work in bettering the lives of those in need in our community.
