Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles

Volunteer - Child & Family Services

At JFS there are multiple opportunities to volunteer your time and skills working with children and families of all ages, races, religions and configurations. Volunteers are trained to work alongside our skilled therapists to directly address the needs of our clients in individual and group settings. We work with children and families who are going through divorce, job loss and other crises. JFS continues to serve as the voice for children at risk of abuse. We also provide training and education on child-abuse prevention.

Volunteer Opportunities Include:

  • Helping with intake
  • Assisting staff with light case management
  • Providing phone support
  • Mentoring a child or parent
  • Providing clerical and administrative support to staff members
  • Assisting with outreach and marketing

The child & family based programs and their geographic locations are:

  • New Moms Connect Helps new moms with issues such as post-partum depression. Located in the Pico-Robertson area, but provides assistance throughout Los Angeles
