WIN
JFS/WIN (Wellness Integrated Program) provides education, outreach and treatment to older adults suffering from mental illness and/or substance abuse. This program helps to increase access to services by creating innovative educational workshops for clients in the community on various health and wellness related topics, and encourages older adults to seek treatment in non threatening settings. This program has a special focus on Russian, Farsi and Spanish speaking seniors, and is integrated with our Department of Mental Health Field Capable Clinical Services (see FCCS) as well as our senior centers and other senior service programs. We encourage clients, past clients, caregivers and family members who have experience with mental heath or substance abuse issues to get involved and join our Peer Advisory Council, to provide input and make recommendations to the staff about mental health needs of older adults, particularly around issues of programming, workshops and outreach. WIN is funded by a federal SAMHSA grant.
